When Pineapple Express was originally scheduled to be screened at Red Rocks a few weeks ago as part of Film on the Rocks, it was canceled due to a lightning storm. Keith Garcia, programming manager for Denver Film Society, said it was the first time the organization had to cancel a Film on the Rocks in twelve years. So Pineapple Expresswill be shown tonight instead of Terminator 2, which will be now be shown as part of The Watching Hour film series at the Denver Film Center on Friday, Saturday, August 5 and 6.

That’s the only change, though. The Chain Gang of 1974 and American Tomahawk are still slated to play tonight. And speaking of Chain Gang, the Los Angeles-by-way-of-Denver act is starting to generate a healthy buzz across the country. In addition to garnering a nod from Spin (who clearly loves the band at this point) as one of the 20 Must-Hear Artists at Lollapalooza 2011, Chain Gang — who’ll be touring with Big Audio Dynamite and Tapes N’ Tapes later this month — had its new video for “Undercover” premiered today on Esquire.
