Forgot to donate on Colorado Gives Day? Then you might want to head down to Pizzeria Basta, 3601 Arapahoe Avenue in Boulder, for a beer.
The alcohol will take the edge off your guilt, and so will the fact that your beer money’s going straight to Community Food Share, a food bank that serves Boulder and Broomfield counties.
“Hoppy Face donated two kegs of beer for a party,” says co-owner Alan Henkin. “So we’re hosting Hoppy Holidays Bluegrass Charity Jam.”
Which will feature bluegrass, as the name suggests. Specifically, Coleman Square and Red Vanryders, which will roll in around 6 p.m. to play together. And while that’s going on, Basta will pour Hoppy Face amber ale for a suggested donation price (though what you want to fork over is entirely up to you). Everything the pizzeria collects for the beer will go right to the food banks — so drink up, and pay up.
