Despite what the calendar says, summer is officially over. At least that’s what the past few brisk mornings have told us. Sweater weather is here. So are you festival-ed out yet? Hope not. There’s still some worthy musical gatherings to attend this weekend before being outside becomes unbearable and tedious.
To wit, there’s two festivals happening this weekend, the Sunnyside Music Festival and the Local Flavor Festival. Both festivals are free, with the former taking place on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Chaffee Park on 44th and Tejon, while the later is slated for Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Lowenstein Cultureplex at Colfax and Elizabeth.
Oh, and before we all take a restival for the rest of the season, let’s not forget: Next weekend, up in Greeley My Favorite Band’s Festival is going down. Sounds like that one’s going to be a hell of a lot of fun and totally worth the drive, and although this one’s indoors, it’s no less enticing, the Goldrush Festival takes the hi-dive over all next weekend.
